One of Simon Rattle's first recordings, made as he was about to embark on his international career! Master Peter's Puppet Show is the centrepiece of this programme and many regard it as one of Falla's greatest achievements and the pinnacle of his Castilian works. Based on an episode from Don Quixote, it is a work of great originality and subtlety of instrumentation in which the principal part is allotted to the boy, who tells the story which is enacted by the puppets.
